Tiny Topper Newborn Size Hat
'I must knit something else rather than another scarf!', I said to myself. Yes, all I've made was rectangular scarves! How boring! So I've decided to take my adventure a little bit further by making something NOT scarf.
This project came from the first knitting book I have used, Vogue Knitting Beginner Basics, I bought the iPad version and found it super useful. You can find the pattern of this project on page 62-63 from the book.
For the sake of copyright, I'll just list the materials and the yarn that I've used for the project, alongside with a few of my thoughts for it.

I enjoyed knitting this little hat, although I don't have a newborn to wear it. I practiced decreasing for shaping up the top part of the hat, but somehow I had little knots on one side of the edge and made seaming difficult. I sat there for hours with two different books and watched a few youtube tutorials, and still couldn't figure out how to seam it (actually, I didn't know how to seam at all because I've never done it in my life)! Luckily, I had an expert friend who helped and taught me how to seam! And ever since that lesson, seaming made a lot more sense to me now. Sometimes books and virtual tutorials are just not as efficient as a real person's demonstration and explanation!
My friend said the knots may be caused by the decreasing at the edge, but I followed the pattern for decreasing instructions, wonder which part did I cause it happen.
Anyway, the satisfaction level was so high when completing this project. Although I found one tiny knitting mistake on the hat, it's so tiny that is not easy to see.
I couldn't help from putting it on my 17 months old baby boy to see how it look like, he looks so funny cos the tiny topper is just too tiny for him :) sweet though!! <3
(He just wouldn't stand still to let me take some better shots, lol~)
