Crochet Project #3: Hello Kitty Coaster

Hello Kitty Coaster

Finally finish my first crocheted coaster! This is done based on a Japanese Sanrio pattern book called サンリオキャラクターこもの by Eriko Teranishi (寺西恵里子). It has soooo many cute patterns in the book. Japanese crochet patterns usually come as charts, it takes time to count chains and stitches on the chart, but then it can be quite easy to understand where every stitch should go.

The Hello Kitty actually took me quite a while to finish because it's not so easy to put the eyes and the nose at the right position.

I've actually made quite a few mistakes on this project so it doesn't look exactly like the picture in the pattern book. I'll certainly try it again and hopefully next time it would be better.

Crocheting is not difficult but making everything look good is certainly not easy. But I do believe in practice makes perfect.

Anyway it's late so I need to go to bed. Good night :)
